If you know anything about old-school A-Cappella, You will know about Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers. I learned about these magnificent figures as a kid growing up in the church. If you’ve ever been in a choir, you may have run across a few of their selections. One such selection is a song called, “Touch the Hem of His Garment”.
The song was taken from the Bible. Matthew 9:21. The basic story is: A woman was very sick. She heard that Jesus was capable of healing. She was so determined to be healed, she climbed the tree, and spotted her Savior in the distance. She plowed through a crowd of people just to get close enough to touch him. As she touched him, Jesus made the statement that someone had touched him; even thought he didn’t see who it was because so many people was around him. However her touch drew power from him and he noticed.
I’m willing to bet that some of you may have a few of his songs on your Amazon Music Playlist. He’s the link… just in case you want to save it to your own list >> Touch The Hem Of His Garment by Sam Cooke & The Soul Stirrers
