Natalie Cole’s “Everlasting”
Songs like this one, are one of the main reasons why we who were born in the 60’s and early 70’s, find it so strange with what’s going on with relationships these days. Songs that had meaning but yet you could still dance to it. People these days they don’t make songs because of that they have behind them they make the songs because they want to be famous or they want to let someone know how they’re doing or they’re trying to express themselves. The latter I understand. Expressing yourselves ourselves, we can do that in song and whatever talent that we have.
When, Natalie, wrote this song, “Everlasting”, she probably knew there were many other songs with the same title. She also maybe didn’t care. Because in this song, her interpretation of love is everlasting and she wanted to express that in a poem to her sweetheart. Songs like these are why the people in the 60’s find it so important to remain so.
