And for all the good things that you’re wishing;
There’s a place you can go;
Where the vibes are nice;
Just like paradise…”
CLUB PARADISE
Hey Y’all this is Ken FromKen.com coming at you again with yet another review. This review is from a movie that I’ve watched many many times. The story behind me finding this movie …: I was driving my truck working for Federal Express. (I did this A little while) … anyway. As I was working for, Federal Express, {It was called that back in the day…. In 2020 they call it FedEx}, I’d to listen to the radio and while listening, the station had this contest. In this contest they asked if you can guess the song. (It was in a small town in California called Bakersfield.) If you guessed the song, you’d get a gift. I got it! (don’t remember what it was), but I’ll never forget what I won. It was a VHS! I still have it! The movie is called, “Club Paradise”.
(psssst …don’t care to read all this? Check out the “audio visual” version of this post below)
Now this movie’s soundtrack has a lot of great unheard-of songs! [Why unheard I wonder?] The movie starred, Robin Williams, Peter O’Toole (pronounced, “Oh Tool”), Rick Moranis, and Jimmy Cliff; That’s to name a couple of the great actors in it. If you could use some good clean comedy for a change … watch this one …… you’ll NEVER forget it. And you KNOW if, Robin Williams is in it, you know it’s got to be good!
So … I did a post on Facebook around May 14, 2020. (Corona COVID-19 virus things are happening all over the place.) And, I said … let me place this thought in the Universe for prosperity as another coronavirus related movie or song. The song in this movie (and there are many of them) is called Ape-Man (by The Kinks). I posted the original song along with a few of its lyrics. Well, one of my friends on Facebook ask: “Where’d you get that song?” That song came from that movie I won why back then, called, “Club Paradise”. So here I am now recommending the movie, to you.
It’s about a guy (R. Williams) who gets hurt while working, retires off the settlement, moves away to a Caribbean tropical island. There he encounters many friends, perils and of course a lover. The film also reminds us; you can always count on good people … when you have to deal with bad people.
(the fine print … Guess what? It’s a real place ….. in the Philippines!)

“So let it be written, so let it be done…”
…And it is written,
IN THE STONE
With the things that are happening today – with this “Corona Virus” mess; I have to mention a musical sensational group who already knew these things were going to happen. How?; because they read about it.
The songs they wrote (and recorded), remind us: There’s somewhere we can go to find out what’s going on and how to react, enjoy and survive today’s (and tomorrow’s) events. The song tells us, the answers are already written … “In The Stone”. Earth Wind & Fire’s writers created and recorded this particular song within the album – powerfully titled, “I AM”.
“In The Stone”, is about how we can go to ancient recordings – “The Holy Bible” being one of them – to witness events which happened long ago and how the people survived them. This song sends the message that we can apply methods they used to events occurring in our lives today. If you are an, “Earth Wind & Fire” fan, you may know this song.
I highly recommend the album, “I AM” which features the single ,”In The Stone”; and personally bear witness of many of the messages within.
In the stone, you’ll find the meaning
You’re not standing tall
In the stone the light is shining
Ever touching all
I found that love provides the key
Unlocks the heart and souls of you and me
Love will learn to sing your song
Love is written in the stone
Every man, I meet is walking time
Free to wander, past his conscious mind
Love will come and take you home
Love is written in the stone
Do you believe, my friend, in what you claim
People of the world, all doubt the same
Bringing questions of their own
Truth is written in the stone
Life experience a passing day
Time will witness, what the ole folks say
Getting stronger every day
Strength is written in the stone
Deep inside your hearts for you to keep
Lies a spark of light that never sleeps
The greatest love you’ve ever known
……… is written in the stone
In the stone, you’ll find the meaning
You’re not standing tall
In the stone the light is shining
Ever touching all

Let’s begin with today, Monday March 23rd, 2020. There are several events going on, which could apply to certain movies I’ve seen. Allow me to recommend the 2007, (coincidentally a lucky 13 years ago and national quarantine enacted on Friday, March 13th, 2020), the movie, “I Am Legend” – starring Will Smith.
This is a zombie movie; specifically emphasizing why those zombies exist – because of a virus… a man made virus… one which was a contingent … in the lab. The movie is set in a large city within the United States. But gives impression that it is a worldwide pandemic; (Which is what’s going on today, “CORONA VIRUS“.) Now without being all doomy and gloomy, this movie WILL put you in mind of whats happening today….
“THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC of 2019-2020”
What if this, “CORONA VIRUS”, is of the same type of virus in that movie; one which may cause folks who died from it to come back to life? I doubt (and why should I) they’d do that – poor souls. But it does give you something to think about, HUH?
Either or, this is a very interesting movie. Sort of makes you wonder. It gives the impression that we should keep hope and try to overcome our fears of it; while others may not be able to do the same. But as most zombie movies do, it places the question in our minds of: “What if?”. Additionally, like most of them, it’s not totally Armageddon. It sort of has a, “Happy Ending”. But getting there takes you through a lot of dramatic scenes. Scenes which puts me in mind what’s happening today.
With all the schools closing, airplanes canceling, stores emptying, ships docking, jobs laying and people scared out of our wits to look at or talk to each other, these things -besides the actual zombies (for now) are really happening today and this movie puts it in perspective [… sort of… anyway].
Very entertaining. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend you look at it with a friend… cause its a bit scary.
